Being a transformation between the two terrains, Ho Chi Minh City is intertwined with natural forest, vast plains, long coast and hundreds of rivers and canals. The Saigon River winds around the city and connect it with the East Sea. It is nicknamed "Pearl of the Far East." Nowadays, Ho Chi Minh City is the largest city in Vietnam, a major hub for commercial, tourist and cultural activities. The tunnels also served as communication routes, storage facilities for food and weapon caches as well as hospitals and living quarters for guerrilla fighters throughout the Vietnam War. A visit to the underground villages provides a great understanding of the hardship of life in the tunnels and the Vietnamese resilience during combat.

In the afternoon, you will have a city tour including the Reunification Hall, formerly known as the Presidential Palace. It was towards this modern building that Communist tanks rolled on the morning of April 30, 1975, as Saigon fell. This fascinating building is filled with history still fresh in the minds of many.
